Nottingham Forest’s injury crisis is slowly easing, although Steve Cooper will still be without a number of players for tonight’s (Wednesday’s) Carabao Cup clash against Manchester United.
The Reds are in the semi-final stage of the competition meaning that they face a two-legged battle against the Red Devils in order to book a place at Wembley Stadium. Steve Cooper ’s side overcame Wolves in a penalty shootout to reach the final four.
Ahead of the game, Forest have been handed an injury concern over midfielder Ryan Yates who was substituted in the weekend’s 1-1 draw with Bournemouth due to feeling unwell. Cooper has revealed that they will make a late decision on if he is available for the clash against United.

The good news for Forest is that both Willy Boly and Jesse Lingard should be fit and available after returning to the squad against Bournemouth. Boly started the game at the Vitality Stadium, while Lingard was an unused substitute but is back in full training after a hamstring injury.
There are still however some long-term absentees on Forest’s injury list, including Omar Richards, Cheikhou Kouyate and Taiwo Awoniyi. The Reds will also be unable to call upon new loan signing Chris Wood who has played in the competition for Newcastle already this season.
With that in mind, here are the options available to Cooper ahead of what is a big night at the City Ground.
Goalkeepers : Wayne Hennessey, Jordan Smith, Adnan Kanuric
Defenders : Scott McKenna, Joe Worrall, Willy Boly, Steve Cook, Renan Lodi, Harry Toffolo, Neco Williams, Serge Aurier
Midfielders : Danilo, Jack Colback, Remo Freuler, Orel Mangala, Lewis O’Brien, Morgan Gibbs-White, Jesse Lingard, Gustavo Scarpa
Forwards: Brennan Johnson, Emmanuel Dennis, Sam Surridge
Sidelined : Chris Wood, Omar Richards, Moussa Niakhate, Dean Henderson, Taiwo Awoniyi, Cheikhou Kouyate, Guiulian Biancone
Doubts : Ryan Yates
