Full Liverpool squad available vs Chelsea as Jurgen Klopp faces Diogo Jota decision

Liverpool are in a strong position heading into today's Carabao Cup final.

Jurgen Klopp's side have won their last nine matches in all competitions and have not lost in two months of action.

The Reds will now have hopes of claiming their first piece of silverware of the 2021/22 season, with the view to adding to this list as the campaign progresses.

Liverpool are not facing many injury issues heading into their encounter with Chelsea at Wembley, providing the team with a platform to achieve a positive result against Thomas Tuchel's men.

Diogo Jota is battling to be ready for the contest, though the Reds' assistant manager Pep Lijnders confirmed that Roberto Firmino will miss out on this showpiece fixture as he struggles with a muscle problem.

“Bobby we have to see in the next two days. He is pushing himself really hard but he will not be available for the final, to reach the squad,” Lijnders told reporters on Friday afternoon.

“We hope he will be back really soon because you all see and know and feel how important he is for our way of playing, so I am happy that he is pushing himself. Hopefully he is soon back.

“Jota, so far no reaction on the things he did, so the straight-line running, the changes of direction and the ball work he did, so that’s a good sign. He isn’t ruled out but still it will be a challenge," he added.
