Full Liverpool squad available to face Brighton as Roberto Firmino back in contention

Liverpool have another opportunity to pile pressure on Manchester City when they face Brighton in an early kick-off on Saturday.

The Reds could go within three points of City with a win on the south coast before Pep Guardiola’s side travel to take on Crystal Palace on Monday night.

Having secured their place in the Champions League quarter-finals in midweek, Jurgen Klopp’s attention turns back towards the title race with his Liverpool side looking to record their eighth consecutive league win this weekend.

However, the German coach will be well aware of the threat posed by Graham Potter’s Brighton side, having been held to a 2-2 draw at Anfield in October.

Speaking in his press conference ahead of the game, the Liverpool boss confirmed that the club have no fresh injury concerns, despite Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate and Thiago Alcantara being absent from training on Thursday.

Though Klopp did warn that the club have to remain wary of a possible covid-19 outbreak, in a cautious fitness update on Friday.

"We had a few little things but so far nobody is out of training. On top of that, Covid is not over,” he said.

"These kind of things we have as well. Or had, we will see. We try everything to avoid this but it's not really possible.

"Players and staff who have had it now with no symptoms. That's good but they can't be involved. We will see. They come later today.

"We train a little bit later and they are not here yet. So far I haven't had any news injury-wise. They should all be ready."

One player that Klopp did confirm would be available for selection against Brighton was Roberto Firmino.

The Brazilian forward suffered a muscle injury against Inter Milan last month, which saw him miss Liverpool’s last six games across all competitions, but the 30-year-old returned to training earlier this week.

Below is the list of players who could be available for Liverpool, barring any late fitness issues...

Goalkeepers: Adrian, Alisson Becker, Caoimhin Kelleher.

Defenders: Andy Robertson, Ibrahima Konate, Joel Matip, Joe Gomez, Kostas Tsimikas, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Rhys Williams

Midfielders: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Curtis Jones, Fabinho, Harvey Elliott, James Milner, Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita, Tyler Morton, Thiago Alcantara.

Forwards: Diogo Jota, Divock Origi, Luis Diaz, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Takumi Minamino, Roberto Firmino.
