Full Liverpool squad available for Rangers as seven players absent for Champions League clash

Liverpool will be without several key players when they take on Rangers in the Champions League tonight.

The Reds face the Scottish Premiership outfit at Ibrox this evening in their next Group A fixture. The last meeting between the two clubs ended in a 2-0 win for the Reds last week at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are currently in second place in the group with six points, three adrift of leaders Napoli who have a 100 percent record. A win against Rangers would move Liverpool a step closer to securing qualification for the knockout stages.

However, the Reds will be without a host of key players for the trip north of the border due to injury. The defeat to Arsenal at the weekend saw three more players added to the treatment room.

Luis Diaz, Joel Matip and Trent Alexander-Arnold are all ruled out for the clash at Ibrox. Klopp also confirmed there will be no Curtis Jones or Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, despite the pair being spotted back in training.

Andy Robertson is in line to return to the matchday squad, after recovering from the knee injury he suffered in the loss to Napoli at the start of last month. Naby Keita, meanwhile, is still yet to recover from his respective injury, while Arthur Melo is also on the sidelines.

Here is a look at the expected Liverpool matchday squad for tonight’s clash against Rangers, barring any late changes.

Goalkeepers: Alisson Becker, Adrian, Caoimhin Kelleher.

Defenders: Andy Robertson, Calvin Ramsay, Ibrahima Konate, Joe Gomez, Kostas Tsimikas, Nat Phillips, Virgil van Dijk.

Midfielders: Fabinho, Fabio Carvalho, Harvey Elliott, James Milner, Jordan Henderson, Thiago Alcantara, Stefan Bajcetic.

Forwards: Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino.
