In light of the Queen's funeral due to take place on Monday, many shops and major businesses have announced they will be closing their doors for the day.
While the government announced that there is "no obligation to suspend business" during the national mourning period, businesses can still opt to close their doors on the day of the state funeral in respect of the late monarch. Regardless, this is "at the discretion of individual businesses".
The Government guidance is: “Some businesses may wish to consider closing or postponing events, especially on the day of the state funeral, however, this is at the discretion of individual businesses.”
