Labour will be looking to retain leadership of Mansfield District Council in upcoming elections as the only party fielding a candidate for every seat available. As well as electing members of the council for the next four years, people in Mansfield will also be electing a Mayor for the town on May 4.
Mansfield's Mayor acts as the leader of the council, with the town being the only area in Nottinghamshire to have a directly elected mayor. The 2019 election in Mansfield saw Labour's Andy Abrahams winning the mayoral race and the party securing the most councillors, though it did not have an overall majority.
Five people are this time fighting to be the next Mansfield Mayor, whilst candidates have also been released for all 36 of Mansfield's wards, each of which are represented by one councillor. Below are all the candidates for both the mayoral race and for each Mansfield ward.
