Full list of Frankie and Benny's and Chiquito restaurants shutting in Leeds as 18 UK closures confirmed

The company behind Chiquito and Frankie and Benny's has announced that two Leeds restaurants will be closing by the end of the month.

The Restaurant Group (TRG) confirmed on Tuesday that it had accelerated plans to close 35 of its sites in order to 'boost profits'. The group confirmed that 23 of these restaurants would be closed by the end of May.

TRG, which currently runs 410 venues, said the quick closures come after it negotiated to exit a number of contracts ahead of schedule. In total, 18 Frankie and Benny's, four Chiquitos and a single Firejacks will shut by the end of May, reports The Sun.

The plans mean that Leeds will lose two restaurants over the coming months. It is not known at this time which Frankie and Benny's we will lose but the announcement appears to confirm the closure of Chiquito at Junction 27 in Birstall as the restaurant is the only Chiquito currently open in the Leeds area.

The news comes after Frankie & Benny's in Kirkstall's Cardigan Fields retail park closed suddenly in December last year. The 18 Frankie and Benny's set for closures are located in:

A spokesperson for TRG told The Sun: "We announced a review of our leisure estate in March and made the difficult decision to exit some of our Frankie and Benny's and Chiquito sites. We are working closely with our impacted teams and will look to redeploy colleagues to neighbouring sites across our wider estate wherever possible."
