You will need to have been entitled to one of these qualifying benefits on May 25, 2022 to get the payment.
The money is expected to arrive by the end of September 2022 and should be sent to the bank account where you receive your benefits.
If you also get a qualifying low income benefit or tax credits, you may get an additional Cost of Living Payment.
There is £650 being awarded to people on means-tested benefits - payments where your income and savings are taken into account, like Universal Credit and Working Tax Credit.
You should receive the money in two payments, with the first £325 cash sum arriving for most eligible households from July.
The second £325 payment is then expected to drop into bank accounts in autumn, although there is no set date.
Those who claim tax credits will receive their first payment slightly later, with the first £325 not expected to be processed until the autumn.
The second £325 payment will then be sent in winter but again, there is no set date yet.
Mr Sunak has also confirmed a £300 extra payment for pensioner households who get Winter Fuel Payments.
Winter Fuel Payments are normally worth between £100 and £300, and are designed to help struggling pensioner households heat their home during winter.
If you’re entitled to Winter Fuel Payments for winter 2022 to 2023, you will get an extra £300 for your household paid with your normal payment from November 2022.
If you were to qualify for all these payments, along with the £400 energy discount, the total amount of support you would receive would add up £1,650.
