Bristol has dozens of Indian restaurants and takeaways to choose from, and most people will be early loyal to one in particular. It may have the crispiest vegetable samosas or the most delicious chicken tandoori - but which curry houses are the cleanest?

Every food establishment across the UK has a rating for its food hygiene awarded by the local authority. These range from zero, meaning urgent improvement is required, to five, which means that hygiene standards are exemplary.

The rating is based on how food is handled, stored and prepared, the cleanliness of the facilities and how food safety is managed. We've put together a list of Indian takeaways and restaurants in Bristol which have been given the top rating of five.
