A number of B&M stores are set to close down over the next few weeks across the UK. Having already closed two, the bargain retailer will be shutting four sites in total.
The popular discount chain says the closures are not in association with the "diminishing high street", but are down to new stores opening and several other factors. Over the weekend, B&M's Stockton site in Castlegate Shopping Centre closed down so it can be relocated to a larger store.
While a site in Newport's Maesglas Retail Park, Wales, is set to shut its doors on Saturday (March 4). But this will be re-opened in a new location - in the old M&S site - in the next few days, according to the Mirror.

Another site located at Queens Drive Retail Park in Kilmarnock, Scotland, will also be closing so it can be moved to a new site at Glencairn Retail Park. Lastly, a site in Broadwalk Shopping Centre, Bristol, will be closing in April as the shopping centre is due to be knocked down.
The closures come as B&M has said it is planning to open up further stores in the coming months - following success from opening several last year. Currently, there are more than 700 B&M stores in the UK. To find your nearest one, visit the website's store finder.
In November last year, B&M reported a 1.8 per cent increase in sales in its six-month trading update and the retailer's chief executive Alex Russo said the chain wanted to continue to support customers with their discount pricing. He said: "We will do our very best to help them weather the cost of living crisis”.
