McDonald's has announced it is increasing the prices of a number of menu items, a year after prices were hiked for the first time in more than a decade. The price rises come among the cost of living crisis as inflation is still more than 10%.
Franchisees set their own prices so menus may vary across the country, but McDonald's has set new recommended retail prices for some of its popular items. Last year the price of a cheeseburger was put up for the first time in 14 years.
A spokesman for McDonald's said: "We are committed to offering great tasting food at affordable prices. However, like many businesses, the impact of the increase in food and energy costs continues to affect our company and our franchisees.
