Leeds United will be looking to ease their relegation worries when they make the trip to Crystal Palace on Monday night. The Whites enter the game on the back of a four-match unbeaten run, but with the table looking a lot tighter following Burnley’s win over Southampton on Thursday.
Jesse Marsch’s side have had a 16-day break from their last Premier League match, which has allowed the likes of Kalvin Phillips and Liam Cooper to get some more training sessions under their belt, though both have featured in the last two games anyway. Ahead of what is another crucial match for Leeds, here is a look at the state of play in the Thorp Arch treatment room after Marsch’s press conference yesterday.
Adam Forshaw – knee
In a very unfortunate training ground incident, Adam Forshaw is set to miss the rest of the season after fracturing his kneecap in a collision. Marsch is expecting him to be absent for the next six weeks and he will therefore be next available in pre-season.

What Marsch said (22.04.22): “We had an unfortunate injury with Adam. He took a knock and fractured his knee cap. It’s a six-week injury, so that puts him out for the season. By summer, he’ll be back and ready to go.”
Potential return date: Unknown
Patrick Bamford – foot
Leeds still retain hope that Patrick Bamford could be seen again in the final two games of the season. Bamford is recovering well from the ruptured plantar fascia he picked up in the win at Wolves last month.
What Marsch said (22.04.22): “ The only other two are Patrick, who’s making good progress and has been running on the AlterG and should be on the pitch next week.”
Potential return date: 15/05/22
Junior Firpo – knee
Like Bamford, Junior Firpo has also been making good progress on the injury he picked up against Aston Villa in March. Firpo has been pictured back in training and could be available for the trip to Palace.
What Marsch said (07.04.22): “Junior [is] making good progress.”
Potential return date: 25/04/22
Tyler Roberts – hamstring
Marsch revealed yesterday that Tyler Roberts is also progressing well in his recovery, though given the initial recovery timeline, he is still set to miss the rest of the season. Roberts underwent surgery on a hamstring injury he suffered at Leicester City.
What Marsch said (22.04.22): “ Tyler Roberts is also making good progress.”
Potential return date: 27/06/22
Jamie Shackleton – calf
Marsch did not provide an update on the fitness of Jamie Shackleton in his pre-match press conference, but prior to the 16-day break, he did suggest he was close to returning to training. That could mean he is in contention for the trip to Palace.
What Marsch said (07.04.22): “Jamie is almost ready to train but not quite.”
Potential return date: 25/04/22
