Full Arsenal squad revealed for Dubai training camp as Smith Rowe returns, 13 youngsters named

Arsenal have revealed their squad for the Dubai warm-weather training camp in preparation for the return of the Premier League.

Perhaps the biggest news is the inclusion of Emile Smith Rowe. The 22-year-old, who has barely featured this season after undergoing groin surgery in September, is on the plane to the Middle East as he bids to prove his fitness to Mikel Arteta in an attempt to be available for selection against West Ham United on Boxing Day.

Last month when speaking to Sky Sports at the Saudi Arabian GP, the attacking midfielder set himself a return target date and admitted his eagerness to play his part during the second half of the season after watching his teammates open up a five-point lead at the top of the Premier League table as well as topping their Europa League group prior to the World Cup break.

"Hopefully [I'll be back] by the first game after the World Cup," he said. "I'm actually out here doing rehab, today was my day off, I'm back training tomorrow. I'm back on the pitch, it's going well. I think it's going really well at the moment I am really happy for the team. But, sometimes it's annoying when I can't be involved and on the pitch with my teammates. But, it is still amazing to see them do well and I can't wait to get back."

Smith Rowe is part of a 27-man squad named by Arteta as senior players such has Kieran Tierney, Gabriel Magalhaes, captain Martin Odegaard, Eddie Nketiah, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Reiss Nelson and Fabio Vieira all make the trip.

Of course, with the Spaniard's options affected by World Cup call-ups, as expected, several academy players have travelled to fill in the gaps in the squad. This includes the likes of Hubert Graczyk, Reuell Walters, Myles Lewis Skelly, Ethan Nwaneri, Amario Cozier-Duberry and Nathan Butler-Oyedeji .

While out in Dubai, Arsenal will face Lyon and AC Milan as part of the Dubai Super Cup tournament before returning home to complete their preparations for the return of the Premier League against Serie A giants Juventus at the Emirates Stadium on December 17.

Full Arsenal squad:

Goalkeepers: Hein, Graczyk, Hillson

Defenders: Tierney, Gabriel, Holding, Cedric, Zinchenko, Foran, Monlouis, Sousa, Walters

Midfielders: Odegaard, Smith Rowe, Vieira, Lokonga, Elneny, Cirjan, Smith, Lewis-Skelly, Nwaneri
