Fulham Football Club has revealed ambitious plans for the redevelopment of their Riverside Stand, promising a range of premium matchday experiences that chairman Shahid Khan believes will set a new standard in football.
The Riverside Stand underwent renovation work in 2019, with the lower tier opening to the public in 2022. The completion of the upper tier is now finalized, and it is set to welcome supporters at the beginning of the 2024-25 season.
According to Khan, the vision for the New Riverside Stand was to create a destination that not only pays homage to the club's history and tradition at Craven Cottage but also offers a unique and unparalleled experience for fans and the local community.
Seven distinct matchday experiences will be available to fans in the Riverside Stand, with the highlight being the 'Sky Deck' located on the top three floors. This rooftop area will provide stunning views of the London skyline and the Thames, along with experiential food and drink pop-ups. The club has also teased a swimming pool as part of the Sky Deck.
For those seeking a culinary delight, two Michelin Star dining experiences will be on offer in 'The Gourmet' and 'The Brasserie.' The latter boasts dual-views of an open-air riverside terrace and the pitch from the halfway line.
Fulham aims to offer the 'most intimate football experience' with 'The Dugout,' where fans can sit directly behind the coaching staff and enjoy the action up close. This area will also feature a bar equipped with immersive audio-visual technology.
The Dugout is scheduled to open to the public at the start of the next season, while the remaining Riverside experiences are slated to be available in December 2024.
Lead architect Philip Johnson expressed his excitement about bringing this innovative design to life, emphasizing the creation of unique spaces that will offer incredible experiences for fans and guests. The world-class terrace overlooking the Thames is expected to enhance the atmosphere within the stadium, providing a one-of-a-kind setting for football enthusiasts.
