Fulham release 10 players as Willian mulls over new contract offer

Fulham have formally offered Willian a contract extension and named Shane Duffy and Paulo Gazzaniga as two of ten players who will leave when their deals expire at the end of June.

Willian signed a one-year deal with Fulham last season and contributed five goals and six assists in 27 Premier League matches to cap an excellent campaign at Craven Cottage.

The 34-year-old is out of contract this month and is believed to be weighing up his options, with Fulham having offered him similar terms to the £50,000-a-week salary he agreed to 12 months ago.

Fulham confirmed on Thursday that Willian is one of five players who have been offered contract extensions to prevent them leaving for free.

The others are Neeskens Kebano, Luciano D’Auria-Henry, Stefan Parkes and Devan Tanton.

Ten players will become free agents when their contracts expire. They are Joe Bryan, Shane Duffy, Paulo Gazzaniga, Steven Sessegnon, Thorsteinn Antonsson, Sonny Hilton, Ziyad Larkeche, Jonathan Page, Murphy Parker and Jean-Pierre Tiehi.

One-year contract extensions have been agreed and activated for Ibane Bowat, Martial Godo and Jay Williams.

Fulham finished tenth in the Premier League in their first season back in the top-flight after winning the Championship under Marco Silva in 2021/22. Their 52 points this season were eight more than local rivals Chelsea achieved.
