Gleeful Fulham fans rubbed salt in Rishi Sunak's wounds as the Prime Minister watched his boyhood club Southampton suffer relegation from the Premier League.
The Saints will play in the Championship next season after suffering a 2-0 loss to Fulham at St Mary's on Saturday afternoon. Second-half goals from Carlos Vinicius and Aleksandar Mitrovic secured the three points for Marco Silva's side, as well as Southampton's fate.
Sunak was born in Southampton and supports his local team. The struggling PM will be hoping the Conservatives avoid a similar fate in relegation to the opposition benches at the next general election, set to take place next year. Labour are currently several points ahead in the polls.
Southampton went into Saturday afternoon's game needing a result, but they failed to lay a glove on Fulham. Ruben Selles' team managed just one shot on target and boasted only 35 percent of the ball, as the visitors cruised to victory at St Mary's.
Aware of Southampton's impending doom, Fulham fans gave Sunak some stick throughout the afternoon. The travelling supporters were heard chanting: "Rishi, what's the score? Rishi, Rishi, what's the score?"
Southampton fans responded by signing: "We're going down." Sadly, Sunak didn't join in with the home fans from the comfort of the posh seats.

Fulham also didn't waste the opportunity to take a dig at Sunak by tweeting: "Sorry, the only prime minister we recognise is Hugh Grant." That is a reference to the iconic film 'Love Actually', in which Fulham fan Grant plays a prime minister.
While Sunak can still cling on to his premiership for a little while longer, Southampton's Premier League journey will come to an end later this month. They won promotion to the top flight in 2012 after finishing second in the Championship under Nigel Adkins.
The Saints enjoyed a great ride in the Premier League under the likes of Mauricio Pochettino and Ronald Koeman. They finished in the top 10 times, including when they placed sixth - just three points behind Manchester City in fourth - seven years ago.
The following season under Claude Puel was also thrilling, as Southampton defeated Inter Milan 2-1 at St Mary's in the Europa League. They also reached the League Cup final, where they suffered a narrow 3-2 defeat to Jose Mourinho's Manchester United.
But the past five seasons have been a struggle for Southampton. Several notable players - including Virgil van Dijk, Danny Ings, Oriol Romeu, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Dusan Tadic - were sold and replaced with younger, cheaper alternatives.
That has left Southampton lacking quality and experience. They have won just six Premier League games this season, scoring 31 goals and conceding 66. Only Wolves have scored fewer, while just Leeds, Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth have conceded more.
Southampton have lacked stability in the dugout. Ralph Hasenhuttl was sacked in November after a poor start to the season, and his replacement Nathan Jones looked completely out of his depth. It spoke volumes when Selles, a 39-year-old with no managerial experience at first-team level, was given the job until the end of the season.
