Fuel prices across Ireland are putting motorists under pressure with some filling stations charging over €2 per litre.
Some Dublin filling stations reached €2.20 a litre for petrol in recent weeks, however thankfully prices have started to calm down with many stations now selling petrol and diesel for well under €2 per litre. Figures from fuel website Pumps.ie suggest that prices amongst most Dublin filling stations run close to the €2 euro mark.
The cheapest locations for petrol are Campus on East Wall Road which is offering €1.86 per litre and Topaz on Usher's Quay at €1.90 per litre. Meanwhile, petrol stands at similar prices in several locations, with Circle K in Fairview providing petrol for €1.91 per litre while Applegreen in Ballinteer lists it at €1.93.

Diesel costs at the two above locations are also amongst the cheapest on offer with prices standing at €1.90 per litre. Other offers falling under €2 include diesel at GO in Ballyfermot and Maxol in Walkinstown at €1.93 per litre.
These prices were available as of 2nd August and are likely to change in the coming days. Dubliners have been subject to soaring fuel prices in recent months.
The possibility of fuel shortages was addressed in plans drawn up by the government which could see drivers being limited to buying a capped amount of petrol in the winter months. Commuters would be limited to pumping between 15 to 20 litres of fuel per visit to the pump in line with the plans.
These restrictions would only come in to place in the likelihood of severe fuel shortages that could potentially impact healthcare settings. CEO of Fuels for Ireland Kevin McPartlan previously called on the government to reduce fuel costs to help ease the pressure on commuters.
The prices displayed on Pumps.ie are most often entered by members of the public who pass by filling stations. It is advised to contact locations directly to get the most accurate pricing on offer.
