NAGPUR: A 75-year-old man named Prabhakar Gajbhiye took his own life after allegedly killing his wife Vimala (70) in Nagpur's Mauda area, police said on Monday.
The couple, grappling with severe health challenges, found themselves in a state of despair, with Prabhakar battling asthma and Vimala bedridden for the past three months, according to a police official from the Mauda police station.
The heartbreaking incident occurred on Sunday, where Prabhakar reportedly took the life of Vimala before hanging himself from the ceiling fan in their residence in Mathni village. A suicide note, believed to be written by Gajbhiye, sheds light on the couple's health struggles and the overwhelming frustration they experienced, the official stated.
