Airlines often like to promote new routes by offering a low fare for those who hop on the first few flights (or commit to taking them several months before they take off).
In the summer, Breeze Airways promoted the 11 new flights it launched to Florida's Gulf Coast from different cities in the U.S. with $59 fares while United Airlines (UAL) -) is also promoting new seasonal routes to Iceland and Spain with slashed ticket prices for those willing to commit to travel in summer 2024.

The latest flight promotion is tied to Frontier Airlines new route to Jamaica. Earlier this week, the Denver-based airline said that it would start running a direct flight to Montego Bay's Sangster International Airport (MBJ) from Cleveland's Hopkins International Airport (CLE) starting from March 9, 2024.
'Array of beaches along with a multitude of fun in the sun'
The flight will run three times a week for the length of the year and joins the airline's routes to the city from Miami, Orlando, Atlanta and St. Louis.

"This is an exciting milestone for Frontier and Cleveland as we expand our operation to offer service to a new international destination for CLE — Jamaica," Frontier's vice president of Network and Operation Design Josh Flyr said in a statement to Travel + Leisure Magazine. "Montego Bay is rich in history and offers a stunning array of beaches, along with a multitude of fun in the sun activities."
To score the low fare, one can go on Frontier's website and enter a flight to Montego Bay from March to July into the search function. The $159 fare that will come up for each on certain dates does not include any baggage or seat assignments and will also grow higher as the route starts running and becomes more popular for the colder season.
The new route will also included in the GoWild! pass that Frontier launched in 2022 as an all-you-can-fly pass to skyrocketing popularity. International flights previously needed to be booked 10 days before departure but, as Frontier works to rework this downside, they will soon be available to book earlier even if there are black-out periods and times when one will not be able to find the flight or date one wants to fly through the pass.
Airlines put more sunny destinations on the radar for 2024
With the rush of post-pandemic travel and demand for sunny destinations from the U.S. showing no signs of cooling down, airlines have been honing in on Jamaica as a business opportunity — next February, American Airlines (AAL) -) will start running a flight to the smaller Boscobel-St. Mary outside of the more popular Ocho Rios.
Back in May, Montego Bay was also named on Delta Air Lines (DAL) -)' report on the new destinations customers were searching for most in 2023. Despite the fact that the State Department raised its travel advisory level for Jamaica "exercise increased caution" to "reconsider travel" in May 2023 due to rising crime in certain cities, the country as a whole remains a very popular destination among American tourists for its resorts and sunny beaches.
