From ₹134 to ₹2 lakh earning per hour: Ankur Warikoo reveals the one decision that changed his life

Entrepreneur and content creator Ankur Warikoo has shared a career story on LinkedIn about how the value of his time skyrocketed from Rs 134/ per hour to Rs 2,00,000/hour in less than two decades. In his post, he breaks down how the value of his working hour grew nearly fifteen hundred times over two decades, and credits the shift to a single decision he made early in his career.

The ₹134 an Hour Beginning

Warikoo recalls that back in 2005, he was drawing an annual salary of about ₹2.78 lakh. When broken down into an hourly rate, that came to roughly ₹134 an hour. At the time, he says he lacked the skills, the exposure, and the professional network needed to push that number higher. Rather than wait for opportunities to arrive on their own, he decided to create them.

Betting Everything on an MBA

In 2006, Warikoo enrolled for an MBA at the Indian School of Business, funding it through a large loan that had no collateral backing him up. It was, in his words, the biggest financial risk he had taken up to that point in life.
