M8 crash wreaks travel chaos as lorry jackknifes with traffic at standstill
A crash on the M8 is wreaking travel chaos in Glasgow, with dramatic pictures showing the aftermath.
Emergency services raced to the scene on the M8 westbound near junction 13 at around 11.50am on Friday January 21.
Cops have shut down a stretch of the busy route following the two-vehicle smash.
The M8 remains closed westbound between J12 at Cumbernauld Road to J13, with drivers urged to find an alternative route.
Mysterious lava-like field burning for 'three years' as dad issues ‘serious risk to life’ warning
A field in an Ayrshire village is burning with a lava-like substance flowing underneath with the public told to 'stay away.'
The field in Patna in East Ayrshire has been declared a ‘serious risk to life’ by a worried dad who captured the smouldering soil this week.
Despite temperatures plummeting to below freezing in January the field continues to burn with smoke pouring out from beneath the scorched ground.
Nicola Sturgeon reported to statistics authority
Nicola Sturgeon has been reported to the UK statistics authority over claims the First Minister "seriously twisted" data on covid infections.
The SNP leader claimed this week that figures compiled by the ONS showed that infections in England were "20 per cent higher" than in Scotland.
But that interpretation of the numbers has since been challenged - with opposition MSPs pointing out the same report estimates that around one in 20 members of the public had covid last week on both sides of the Border.
Mum on cocaine when newborn baby died held house parties just days after tragedy
A mum who was on cocaine when her baby girl died in the same bed as her threw house parties just days after the newborn's death.
Aimee Jones found daughter Keira-Mae Jones, who was just two-days-old, 'unresponsive' in her bed at Barnsley Hospital on Saturday May 16, 2020.
In the days following the tragedy, the mum held as many as nine house parties, with a neighbour witnessing her drinking with friends during the height of the pandemic.
Top three 'classic' Covid symptoms change with Omicron as 'virus evolves'
The three Covid symptoms first identified at the start of the pandemic are less common, according to one Covid expert.
It's been almost three years since the pandemic started, so you may already know the three 'classic' Covid symptoms: fever, cough and loss of taste or smell.
However, UK epidemiologist and professor Tim Spector says the 'virus has evolved' causing the the symptoms to change with it.
The Covid expert said 'only half' of people on the ZOE Covid Symptom App are showing the three main Covid symptoms.
