Nottingham Forest have been linked with Turkish goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir ahead of the summer transfer window opening on Wednesday.
Dean Henderson is the Reds’ top target to fill the No.1 spot for the 2023/24 season. Forest are hoping to get the 26-year-old back on a permanent basis, following his successful spell on loan from Manchester United.
However, Turkish media outlet TRT Spor report the club have been monitoring Trabzonspor’s Cakir, just in case a deal for Henderson does not come off. Roma are said to also have their eyes on the 27-year-old, having been monitoring him for some time.

Strengthening between the posts is a priority for the Reds this summer. Henderson started last term as first-choice, then was replaced by PSG loanee Keylor Navas when he suffered a thigh injury.
With both players having returned to their parent clubs, it leaves a hole to be filled at the City Ground. United are believed to be willing to let Henderson leave, but clarity is needed on David de Gea’s future before anything can be sorted with his teammate.
Forest currently have Wayne Hennessey, who was back-up stopper last season, Ethan Horvath and youngster George Shelvey on the books. Horvath spent the campaign on loan at Luton Town and is likely to move on, with the Hatters having previously indicated they hold an option to make his switch permanent.
The transfer window officially opens on Wednesday. Clubs then have until 11pm on September 1 to get their business done.
Incomings and outgoings are expected Trentside as head coach Steve Cooper looks to put together a squad capable of pushing on in the Premier League. However, the number of new arrivals will not be on the same scale as 12 months ago, when 22 signings came through the doors.
