TRAIN drivers are to stage a fresh strike early in the new year which is set to cause travel disruption in Scotland.
Members of the drivers’ union Aslef at 15 train companies will walk out on Thursday, January 5, after overwhelming votes for more industrial action in the long-running dispute over pay.
A few of the companies - including Avanti and London North Eastern Railway (LNER) - operate cross-Border services so Scotland will be affected.
