Fresh weather warnings have been issued for Brits this weekend.
More snow and ice is on the way for some parts of the UK after a freezing spell from the Arctic has cast homes under as much as 40cm in some parts.
Forecasters have warned more snowfall could cause disruption through Saturday and into Sunday for most of Scotland and northern England.
Wintry conditions could cause delays on the roads, rails and potentially disruption for flights, too.
Scotland and northern England will be the worst affected, while a rare amber alert is in place for the North West. There have already been five new warnings issued on Thursday.
"Bus and train services may be delayed or cancelled," the Met Office said. "With some road closures and longer journey times possible.
"Untreated pavements and cycle paths might be impassable. A chance of injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces."
Forecasters added: "There is a small chance that power cuts will occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected."
In its forecast, the Met Office warned: "The forward edge of this is expected to fall as a transient band of snow which may bring accumulations over higher ground, before turn increasingly to rain from the south through the night.
"However, for some places in the north of this area, this band may become slow-moving and snow may persist into Sunday morning.
"For much of the area, accumulations likely to be confined to elevations above 200m, with 2-5cm possible, 5-10cm possible above 400m."
"These accumulations likely to begin melting with the onset of rain, although, during this transition freezing rain is possible giving icy conditions, mainly over higher ground."
Around 50mph winds and up to 40cm of snow was forecast in some parts of North Wales and Northern Ireland on Thursday, with Scotland and the North also given a coating.
The forecast added: "In the north, where the band of precipitation becomes slow-moving, similar accumulations are expected although this will not melt, with lying snow remaining through Sunday."
