Fresh Rangers claim as Jonathan Panzo nears Nottingham Forest exit

Rangers "remain in the hunt" for Nottingham Forest defender Jonathan Panzo but a deal is yet to be struck.

The Scottish giants have been heavily linked with a move for the 22--year-old. Reports have previously claimed that advanced negotiations are ongoing between the two clubs, with the fee said to be around £2.5million.

Panzo spent last season on loan with Championship play-off finalists Coventry City where he made 32 appearances. The centre-back arrived at the City Ground from Dijon in January 2022.

But our colleagues at the Daily Record report that although Rangers remain interested in Panzo, a deal is yet to be sealed for the defender.

The report claims that manager Michael Beale is a fan and Panzo is "willing to move north if the deal is right". Rangers are said to know the wages and fee they will need to hit but "they have still to push through the deal."

It has also been reported that the Scottish side will face competition for Panzo's signature. Fabrizio Romano has previously said there are other clubs in Germany and in England who are "keen" to sign the defender.

Panzo has made just one first team appearance for the Reds, playing in last season’s 1-1 Championship draw with Hull City on the final day of the normal season. He was left out of the squad entirely for the successful play-off campaign.
