Fresh pictures of Katie Taylor's facial injuries after concerning moment just after fight

Katie Taylor continued to bleed from her head at a post-fight press conference after the toughest battle of her legendary boxing career on Saturday night.

The Bray boxer was bloodied and somewhat disfigured after a brutal contest that saw her eat heavy punches in the fifth round.

But Taylor survived to win on points in one of the fights of the year.

Katie was still bloodied in the aftermath of the fight and even an hour later at the press conference she was shedding blood from the side of her head while fielding the media's questions.

Pictures below show just how much damage the pride of Ireland took in the 10 rounds against Amanda Serrano.

Katie admitted the fight was the best moment of her career, the 35-year-old said: "I think the most important thing is to come out as the winner regardless of whether I performed well or not.

"Today was just fantastic. I had to dig deep in there tonight. I had to produce a career defining performance to actually win tonight."

Taylor also praised her opponent and said the fight was better than anyone could ever have imagined.

She added: "What an amazing champion Amanda is as well. A phenomenal fighter and we definitely got the best out of each other for sure.

"Everybody was talking coming into this fight that it was the biggest women’s fight in boxing history but I think it succeeded everything that people were talking about this week.

"Just walking out to the ring today just looking at a packed stadium, It was unbelievable."
