Sir Keir Starmer has been forced to delay his Chagos Islands deal following a backlash from Donald Trump.

The Bill enshrining the deal to hand the Indian Ocean territory to China-friendly Mauritius in law was due to be voted on in the Lords on Monday, but Labour have pulled it amid fears of a defeat by Tory peers.
