Fresh alert for potentially lethal mosquito-borne virus

A potentially deadly mosquito-borne disease has been detected in Australia for the first time this summer, prompting an alert from authorities.

Japanese encephalitis virus was found at Horsham, 300km northwest of Melbourne, Victoria's health department said on Tuesday.
