US Open champion Raducanu gears up on eve of French Open campaign

Relive the action from the second round of the French Open at Roland Garros, as Emma Raducanu’s journey came to an end after a three-set defeat to Aliaksandra Sasnovich in the opening match at Court Suzanne-Lenglen. Raducanu edged the first set but was ultimately overwhelmed by an inspired Sasnovich, who hit an incredible 45 winners in wrapping up a 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 victory in a little over two hours.

The match of the day, though, was Carlos Alcaraz saving match point on his way to surviving a five-set thriller against Albert Ramos-Vinolas. The 19-year-old, who arrived at the French Open as one of the tournament favourites, kept his hopes alive as he forced a deciding set and then came from a break down while playing a stunning array of recovery shots to the delight of the crowd.

Earlier, Novak Djokovic cruised through to the third round with a 6-2, 6-3, 7-6 win over Alex Molcan, as did Cameron Norrie who brushed aside qualifier Jason Kubler to match his best performance in a grand slam. It was not so easy for Alexander Zverev, who had to come back from two sets and match point down to defeat Sebastian Baez on Philippe Chatrier. Catch up on the action from the French Open, below:
