For the first time in Thailand, the Embassy of France is holding the "Goût De France Food Fair" at Big C Extra Rama IV from Wednesday to July 20.
Held as part of the worldwide celebration of French gastronomy and products, the fair is aimed at promoting French cuisine to young dynamic Thais and to show that French food is not that hard to prepare.
It comprises of two never-seen-before events.
The first is the "Tour De France Food Fair", which will transform the space at Big C on Rama IV Road into a food court with 10 French chefs from around Bangkok, a French bakery corner and an area for tasting delicious French products.
This is a rare opportunity to discover the best of French finger food and regional dishes from the north, northeast, northwest, southwest and southeast of France; as well as Ile-de-France (Paris region), Loire Valley, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, French Alps, and French Islands (Dom-Tom).
Another highlight is the "French Chef's Table" programme which will present four videos where influencer chefs and stars from MasterChef Thailand All-Stars will show how to make four easy and affordable French dishes, including "How To Make The Perfect Planche" by chefs Sylvain Royer and Quest (runner-up of MasterChef Thailand 2020); "Go Back In Time With Soupe-a-L'oignon" by chef Clément Hernandez; "Take It Easy Breezy With Galette Bretonne" by chefs Pruek and Namchuem from RawMat; and "Relive Your Childhood With Riz-Au-Lait" by chef Paope (winner of MasterChef Thailand 2020).
The videos will be released on Wednesday on Facebook.com/lafete.festival. You may order the DIY boxes through Big C online (visit bigc.co.th) and receive your own French meal kit.
