A French scientist is among three US-based scholars who won the Nobel Prize in chemistry Wednesday for their work on quantum dots — tiny particles just a few atoms in diameter that can release very bright coloured light and whose applications include electronics and medical imaging.
The winners were Moungi Bawendi, a French chemist working with MIT, Louis Brus, an Amercian employed at Columbia University, and Alexei Ekimov, who was born in Russia and works at Nanocrystals Technology.
