French anti-terror prosecutors have disclosed that an Afghan national is under investigation for terrorism charges in connection with a suspected attack plot. The 22-year-old suspect was one of three individuals detained in the southern Toulouse region, with the other two individuals subsequently released from custody.
The investigation, initiated on September 27, uncovered a purported plan for violent action targeting individuals in a football stadium or a shopping center, allegedly linked to the Afghan suspect. Authorities reported discovering several elements that allegedly tie the individual to radicalization and adherence to the ideology of the Islamic State group.
