In a highly competitive first half between No. 11 seed Providence and No. 6 seed Kentucky, an event occurred that may not happen again for the rest of the men’s NCAA tournament.
Friars forward Clifton Moore was at the line shooting two free throws with Providence leading 18–17 at the 8:36 mark in the first half. His first free throw went up, rolled around the cylinder, and eventually settled on the back of the rim and got stuck.
Of course, the free throw was ruled no good, and had to be knocked down off the rim by Kentucky’s Jacob Toppin.
