With the Easter break coming up this weekend, families around the country are eager to keep their little ones entertained throughout the bank holiday weekend.
However, sometimes this can be pretty costly, especially in the capital city, and given the cost of living crisis - many families may be unable to afford €20 per person tickets for a five-person family.
To help families looking for a jam-packed weekend of activities every member of the household can enjoy - here are the best free Easter events happening this weekend.

Hop along to Peter Rabbit at The Square in Tallaght
The Square shopping centre in Tallaght will host the Peter Rabbit’s activity trail free of charge on Easter Monday, April 10.
Throughout the day, Peter Rabbit will be doing a meet and greet for any youngsters on the day who want to take photos with the Beatrix Potter character. For the older memes of the family, there will also be music and entertainment.
The three-hour free event is ticketed. The tickets went on sale on Monday, April 3.
Painting workshop at Hugh Lane Gallery
Another great family-friendly activity is taking place at the Hugh Lane Gallery in Dublin.
On Saturday, a workshop specifically designed for one to three years olds will be held where artist Ashleigh Downey will lead children in a Magic of Colour session where little ones will learn how to paint.
However, if your kids are a little bit older, the following day, Sunday, April 9, there will be a free Sunday Sketching workshop for children aged six and older.
The Easter Emporium at Liffey Valley Shopping Centre
Looking for another family-friendly event spread out over the weekend? Well, the Liffey Valley has you covered with some exciting workshops.
Running from Wednesday, April 5 until Saturday, April 8 inside the shopping centre, the Easter Emporium offers children the chance to gain knowledge about sustainability via crafts - with all participants getting the opportunity to bring home a free chocolate egg.
Although the event is free, pre-booking is required.
Easter history workshop
If you are looking to do something just before the weekend if those days are too busy, then there will be a free children’s history workshop taking place at Richmond Barracks.
Running on Thursday, April 6 for children aged 9- 12, the workshop will include egg decoration and an Easter hunt in the garden of the barracks.
During the workshop, Dublin’s historian in residence for children Dervilia Roche will teach children about Easter traditions in Ireland and further afield as well as learn about the tradition of chocolate eggs.
