Freddie Freeman listed his $7.8 million LA home for nearly $9 million; after multiple cuts, it sold for just $6.45 million

First baseman Freddie Freeman of Los Angeles Dodgers and his wife Chelsea had put up their home located in Studio City for more than $9 million, but in the end, the property was sold at $6.45 million.

The Canadian and American professional baseball first baseman had bought the home in 2023 for $7.825 million, which he had purchased through a trust tied to the manager of a fashion line owned by his wife, as per a report. So that means the difference between the final sale price and what the couple paid for the property was $1.375 million.

Freddie Freeman’s home was first listed for $8.995 million

The Studio City home, which was constructed in 2022, was listed for $8.995 million in 2024, but the asking price was gradually lowered, eventually reaching $7.349 million before the property sold for $6.45 million.

According to a Mansion Global report, Freeman and Chelsea bought the property in 2023, the year after the home was completed.

Inside Freddie Freeman’s Studio City home

The property sits on about 0.22 acres in Studio City. It includes a roughly 4,535-square-foot main house and a smaller guesthouse of about 500 square feet, with five bedrooms between the two structures, as per the Wall Street Journal report.

Inside, the main residence features a grand staircase with custom brass handrails. The primary bedroom has two closets and a barrel-vaulted clay ceiling.

Mansion Global also reported features including sanded limestone floors, oak-encased beams, a black-bottom pool, an infrared sauna and a fire pit. The property also has a courtyard with a bar.

Freeman made no changes to the home

According to listing agent Ginger Glass of Compass, Freeman did not make changes to the property during his ownership. Glass also said the home was purchased after the couple's initial move to Los Angeles.

The property was ultimately sold for $6.45 million, bringing the sale price $1.375 million below the $7.825 million purchase price.

Who Is Freddie Freeman

Freddie Freeman is a professional baseball player and star first baseman who has played for the Atlanta Braves and Los Angeles Dodgers. A left-handed hitter and standout fielder, he made his MLB debut with the Braves in 2010 and joined the Dodgers as a free agent in 2022, as per a Britannica report.

Born September 12, 1989, in Villa Park, California, Freeman is the youngest of three sons of Frederick and Rosemary Freeman, who were from Ontario, Canada. He holds both Canadian and American citizenship.

Freeman began playing Tee Ball at six and practiced with older children because his swing was considered too dangerous for his age group. His mother died of melanoma in 2000, and Freeman later said he wanted to honor her by becoming a great kid.

At El Modena High School in Orange, California, Freeman played varsity baseball. The Braves selected him in the second round of the 2007 MLB draft.
