Freddie Flintoff certainly got viewers talking as he appeared on the latest edition of The One Show. The former cricketer turned TV star was on the famous green sofa alongside his Top Gear co-star Chris Harris and ITV presenter Lorraine Kelly.
While Freddie and Chris were on hand to chat to the BBC One show's hosts Alex Jones and Ronan Keating about the new series of the motoring show while Lorraine was promoting her new show, Queens of the Night, which sees six male celebrities transform into drag artists with one ultimate winner.
But before they even got fully underway, Alex couldn't help but tease Freddie after she spotted his rather bold fashion statement. The presenter was swiftly spotted donning a white-sock and white-Croc combination leading to Alex saying: "I'm wondering, Freddie, do we need to address the crocs now or later?"
The 44-year-old was quick to reply: "Why, what's wrong with them?", which welcomed comments from others in the studio. Former Boyzone singer Ronan immediately quipped: "What's right with them?" While Chris told his co-star: "Where do you want me to start?"
But Freddie wasn't having it as he replied: "Seriously, fashion tips from you?" before Alex tried to move the subject on by justifying her comment. Warning him that they were going to get complaints, Alex said: "People are going to be emailing", before moving on to the next link.
The One Show, however, was clearly looking for some reaction as they shared a clip of the short discussion - or ribbing of Freddie depending which way you look at it - and asked: "What do we think of @flintoff11's crocs and socks?" alongside a crying laughing emoji.
And viewers certainly delivered and it caused more of a divide than Alex was probably expecting when she made her first comment. @mrcjbrad tweeted: "Crocs and socks.. go Freddie #TheOneShow #FashionModel #takeabow." @SarahYo29609558 shared: "Loving the White Crocs @flintoff11 on the one show."
But @jonnypunk1965 shared: "Flintoff Crocs n socks just no #TheOneShow." @AlanRei95192241 echoed: "Flintoff, Crocs, No! #theoneshow." While @Beattie85 added: "@flintoff11 You're brave wearing the @Crocs on #TheOneShow I can’t bring myself to wear mine out the house yet. Lol."
