Fred Siriex from Teen First Dates tells of young love on Lorraine slot

Fred Siriex appeared on Lorraine this morning to preview the new season of Teen First Dates, and spoke of his first, young love at the ripe age of 18.

Lorraine Kelly, the Scottish host of the aforementioned programme, spoke to Fred about his influence in the show, and he confessed to understanding the innocence and excitement surrounding meeting your first love.

Speaking on the show, Fred said: "You got it bang on Lorraine, its the innocence of finding your first love.

"When we were filming that series, I took myself back to when I was 18, and in fact I was at my parents' house last week, and they found a box of pictures, and there was this one photo of me."

Fred shared the picture of himself as a charming 18-year-old man, working in a restaurant over the summer on his Instagram, and it was shown on the programme as well.

He continued: "It was in the summer and I had fallen madly in love with this girl.

"I was working with her in the same restaurant, and after two weeks we began dating.

"It was that moment when you find your first love where you have no worries, no plans, no immediate future to think about, and you can just exist in that present moment."

Fred even went on to describe his clothing in the photo, and also spoke about how the TV show isn't always about finding love, but yourself as well.

He added: "This is that exact picture, and I was going on a date with her, and I was wearing a jacket that at the time was worth 2000 French francs, which is £500 in today's money!

"At the time, life was perfect as I was working all the time, getting money and finding myself.

“When I see these kids coming to my restaurant, arriving and meeting their dates, I feel like I am their wisdom because I know what it's like to be that age at 18 and to be figuring life out.

“It isn't always about finding your first love on your first date, but it's about discovering yourself, meeting new people, and to get out of your comfort zone, and do something you wouldn't normally do."

You can watch Teen First Dates, featuring Fred Siriex, on Channel 4 tomorrow night, February 23, at 9pm.
