Fred issues two-word demand of teammates as Man United players react to Newcastle disappointment

Fred has urged his Manchester United teammates to fix their eyes on Wednesday’s game against Tottenham after Sunday’s goalless draw with Newcastle.

The midfielder put in an underwhelming display on what was his first Premier League start since the 4-0 loss to Brentford. The Brazilian missed a glorious chance towards the end of the game, failing to hit the ball on target after Nick Pope was rounded by Marcus Rashford.

An organised defensive display from Newcastle meant United were held to their first draw of the season. United have now kept two clean sheets in a row and conceded just once in three outings.

However, they would ultimately feel the stalemate with Newcastle was a missed opportunity. But with Tottenham and Chelsea left to play this week, Fred urged the team to concentrate on their next few games.

Writing on his Instagram story, he said: "Move on." This sentiment was echoed by Diogo Dalot, who has played every game so far this season.

The right-back encouraged his teammates to "recharge and go again" on his Instagram account. Dalot already knows that he will not have to deal with Richarlison on Wednesday after the striker hobbled off with an ankle injury against Everton on Saturday.

He is set to be sidelined for a number of weeks while Dejan Kulusevski is also a doubt after sitting out the 2-0 win over the Toffees. Wins against Spurs and Chelsea could see United jump into the top four as they continue their pursuit of a place in next season's Champions League.
