'Freak whirlwind' throws part of West Lothian cricket club '10 feet in the air'

A cricket club in West Lothian was hit by a "freak whirlwind" which left their equipment damaged.

Livingston Cricket Club saw their wicket covers get thrown up '10 feet in the air' at their Dresselrigg ground in Murieston. The freak incident happened last week as the club was preparing to get its season up and running on Saturday.

Witnesses explained how there was no other wind in the vicinity but two of the wicket covers were swept up into the air before crashing down – Another cover nearby was completely untouched.
