The Fraternal Order of Police has expressed strong support for South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem as the potential secretary of homeland security. In letters to President-elect Trump and Sen. Rand Paul, the FOP highlighted Governor Noem's history of backing law enforcement and commitment to public safety.
The FOP, representing around 377,000 sworn law enforcement officers nationwide, emphasized the importance of swiftly confirming Noem to address issues such as border security and the influx of fentanyl into the U.S. If confirmed, the FOP plans to collaborate with Governor Noem on various critical missions of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
