Frantic search launched for missing Scots man who didn't show up for work

A frantic search has been launched for a missing Scots man who hasn't shown up for work.

Ross Pate, 33, has vanished from his home in Carluke, South Lanarkshire.

He hasn't been seen since he left for work at around 3.30pm on Friday, February 4.

Despite the desperate efforts of police and his family, no one has been able to get in touch with him and there have been no further sightings of him.

Officers are appealing for the assistance of the public in tracing Ross.

He is described as white, 5 ft 11 in height, of slim build, with short light brown hair, facial hair, and was wearing blue jeans, blue zipper top and white trainers.

Cops have described Ross' disappearance as 'very out of character'.

Inspector Ross Aitken said: "Ross drove off to work in his grey Seat Ibiza car - SE16 GXD - but he didn't turn up and when he didn't come home last night or get in contact with his family, police were called as this is very out of character for him.

"He is known to frequent Wishaw and Motherwell areas. We would ask Ross to get in touch with his family or police to let us know he is OK.

"If you have seen Ross, his car, or have any information that will help us find him, then please call police via 101 quoting reference number 0061."
