Frankie Bridge felt judged over her decision to have her children by caesarean.
The Saturdays singer elected to welcome her two sons - Parker and Carter, who she shares with husband Wayne Bridge - by C-section, and in a frank chat on Loose Women today, she admitted she felt she had been judged for welcoming her kids that way.
She explained that she was never against a vaginal birth but wasn't particularly desperate for one either, so she spoke to her doctor who suggested she have a caesarean birth.
However, she did admit she felt very judged for her decision.
Speaking on ITV's Loose Women today, she said: "I don't understand it because, in the nicest way possible, I don't care how anyone has their baby as long as they're ok and the baby is ok. I had two C-sections and they were elected and we were saying before, I think a lot of people want the experience of a natural birth, but I wasn't fussed."
Asked if she felt judged by other people for choosing to have a caesarean, she added: "100 per cent and I think the too posh to push thing is a lot to blame for that. People see it as a lazy way out.
"I had a lot of 'oh was it an emergency?' and I think you get it from the minute you're pregnant and for the rest of your life."
Frankie had previously revealed she opted for a C-section to help with her anxiety.
"I was open to both birth options – in my head I thought both were going to suck, so choose one! I told my obstetrician to give me pros and cons of both, and I said ‘If I was your daughter, what would you do?’, and he said ‘C-section.’ So I thought OK, let’s book it," she explained recently about her decision to opt for a caesarean birth.
"With work and with Wayne playing football, I wanted to make sure we were there together and that was really the only way I could do it. I never had any real burning desire to have a natural birth, but I wasn’t against it either."
She added: "It felt like I had less control over it [a natural birth], that no-one could really tell me what was going to happen, and with my anxiety that was a really horrible situation to be in. And Wayne was very much like ‘If I was having a baby that’s what I’d do.'"
