We still don’t know the extent of Jaycee Horn’s hamstring injury. But we now know that it won’t be an easy one to come back from.
Carolina Panthers head coach Frank Reich spoke to reporters this afternoon and confirmed yesterday’s rumblings of Horn’s latest setback.
Buy Panthers Tickets“We’re still kinda workin’ through that,” he said. “He’s workin’ through gettin’ other opinions and just seein’ the full extent of it. It is a serious hamstring injury. He’s gonna be out for a while, for an extended period of time.”
Reich was then asked if surgery is an option for the third-year cornerback, who left before halftime of the season-opener with the injury. He said that it’s on the table.
“It’s just one of those freak things,” he added. “It’s just one of those freak injuries. You just never know. You just never know. And he knew right away. I could tell as soon as I got out there. He kinda felt it pop.”
Horn, who also sustained breaks to his foot and wrist, has already undergone multiple procedures during his brief NFL career. Before Sunday, the 2021 eighth overall pick missed 17 of a possible 33 games due to injury.
