Frank Leboeuf slams ‘shameful’ Chelsea after Manchester City humbling - ‘They don’t have pride’

Former Chelsea defender Frank Leboeuf has slammed Graham Potter’s “shameful” side following their 4-0 defeat at Manchester City on Sunday.

The Blues crashed out of the FA Cup at the third-round stage for the first time since 1998 as a Riyad Mahrez brace, Phil Foden and Julian Alvarez condemned them to another dismal defeat.

Support for former manager Thomas Tuchel was audible in the away at the Etihad Stadium and the pressure is growing on the former Brighton boss, who has now won just once in seven matches.

While Potter has called for time to rebuild a club in transition and believes he retains the support of the dressing room, Chelsea’s only remote chance of silverware this season would be an unlikely Champions League win.

Despite already spending over £300m in the Todd Boehly-Clearlake Capital era, the team appears to be in decline.

Potter has been forced to turn to a raft of young players, both because of an injury crisis and the fact big money signings are yet to work out.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has failed to convince and there remain questions as to whether Marc Cucurella, Kalidou Koulibaly or Wesley Fofana will prove value for money.

Speaking to ESPN, Leboeuf, who twice won the FA Cup with Chelsea said: “Mr Potter, enough is enough now, something needs to be changed.

“I’m very upset with what I see. I think it’s really disrespectful. They don’t do anything to at least make people proud. Fight! Go for it.

“I’ve never seen Chelsea so low.

‘The players don’t have the will, they don’t have the guts, they don’t have the courage to fight for their colours. They don’t have pride.”
