Frank Lampard 'to do' list at Everton - Two new signings, contract talks and Amadou Onana dilemma

Everton's senior squad - minus those involved in World Cup duty - returned to Finch Farm on Friday as training resumed ahead of the Premier League's return.

It is now just over a fortnight until the Blues host Wolverhampton Wanderers in a clash that will be pivotal to setting the tone for the first few weeks after the break. By then, Everton would have spent Christmas Day - and the preceding six weeks - just one place and one point above the relegation zone. Frank Lampard would have spent the same period plotting a pathway up the table.

The January transfer window will be important to the club and Lampard is hopeful of landing two attacking targets. But that game with Wolves, and the following fixtures against Manchester City and Brighton, will come before any real progress can be made. Everton new stadium latest stages of development shown in stunning photos

These sensational images showcase the latest developments at Everton's new waterfront stadium.

The images come as all the pre-cast components, which slot together to form the overall structure, have now been produced. They show the progress made on all four stands, from the roof trusses to the steelwork and terracing.

They also show some of the first of the 731 brick facade panels that will feature on the exterior of all of the stands and which feature a nod to the famous Archibald Leitch latticework at Goodison Park. Work is ongoing as Everton Stadium continues to rise from Bramley-Moore Dock.

The 52,888 capacity venue is due to open in the season after next, and has already been named as a potential host venue in the FA’s bid for the UEFA European Championships in 2028.
