Frank Lampard said he has "no opinion" on the decision by the Football Association to hit Everton with a disciplinary charge following a flashpoint in the Crystal Palace game.
Four bookings were dished out - three to Palace players - after two poor challenges by the away side led to chaotic scenes on the pitch. James Tarkowski was shown a yellow card for his involvement in the fracas, the centre back rushing to defend his teammates.
Both clubs have since been accused of failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an "orderly fashion". They have until November 1 to submit their responses to the allegation.

Tempers rose in the 68th minute of Saturday's game, shortly after Everton had doubled their lead through Anthony Gordon following a move that involved 10 players. The incident started when Marc Guehi went in late on Dominic Calvert-Lewin and then, seconds later, Wilfried Zaha caught Gordon off the ball. Zaha, Guehi, Jeffrey Schlupp and Tarkowski were booked amid the scenes that followed.
On Wednesday, the FA confirmed it had charged both sides with failing to control their players over the incident, which followed a number of contentious decisions that had frustrated the home fans at Goodison Park.
Asked for his thoughts on the allegation ahead of the trip to Fulham Lampard, who was fined £30,000 by the FA for comments made following the Merseyside derby at Anfield last season, simply said: "I haven't got an opinion on it. Passion in football... I think the first action that started the incident probably wasn't dealt with in the right way in my opinion, and sometimes that flares passions in the ground. I don't think anyone got hurt.
"Personally, I don't think it was a huge deal but as a club we have taken that on, and that is it."
