'It's going to be tight' - Frank Lampard offers injury updates on Everton pair
Everton manager Frank Lampard has given injury updates over Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Andros Townsend ahead of his side’s return to Premier League action against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Boxing Day.
Calvert-Lewin missed Everton’s first 10 games of the season with a knee injury and despite returning to play six matches and score one goal, he was then sidelined for the double header at Bournemouth and went into the World Cup break suffering three separate injuries (hamstring, knee, shoulder).

Lampard said: “Dominic, it’s going to be tight Wolves. He’s going to be training over the next couple of days, trying to push him a bit for match fitness.

Frank Lampard sends Jordan Pickford message with Everton contract update
Frank Lampard believes Everton can match Jordan Pickford’s ambitions while offering an update on the England number one’s contract along with two other players. Asked about how close Everton were to agreements in contract talks with Anthony Gordon, Alex Iwobi and Pickford, Lampard said: “Close. That’s the update for you, all good.
“Hopefully it’s a situation where we want the players to stay and they want to stay here, that’s always been the feeling. We’re very close.”
Pickford, who has just returned from World Cup duty, has just over 18 months remaining on his current deal with the Blues. Despite many of the goalkeeper’s Three Lions colleagues regularly turning out in the Champions League, Lampard insists the player remains satisfied with life at Goodison Park.
