Frank Lampard first press conference as Everton manager confirmed

Frank Lampard’s first press conference as Everton manager will take place at 2pm on Thursday.

The former Derby County and Chelsea boss was confirmed as Rafa Benitez’s replacement on Monday and has signed a two-and-a-half year deal with the club.

Lampard got straight to work, bringing in Manchester United’s Donny van de Beek on loan and signing Dele Alli from Tottenham Hotspur during his first 24 hours in charge on transfer deadline day.

The 43-year-old who once netted the winning goal for Chelsea against Everton in the 2009 FA Cup final, will take charge of his first game with the Blues on Saturday when they face Brentford in the fourth round of the same competition.

Lampard will face the media via a remote Zoom call from Finch Farm to preview the fixture as well as discussing his appointment with independent sources for the first time.

As well as his two new signings – neither of whom are eligible to play this weekend because they are both cup-tied – he is also expected to be asked about his plans for Everton going forward and further additions he could make to his backroom staff with Ashley Cole expected to join the appointments he has already made.
