Chelsea interim boss Frank Lampard does not know if N'Golo Kante will sign a new deal at Stamford Bridge but believes he remains a 'huge asset' to the club.
Kante is out of contract in West London this summer but talks are reportedly progressing well over potentially extending his stay. The 32-year-old has spent much of the season out injured but made his return in April and has started seven of the last nine matches in all competitions.
In an interview with Sky Sports earlier this week, Kante hinted that he would like to stay at Chelsea beyond this season and according to the Daily Mail, is prepared to turn down interest from Arsenal and Barcelona in order to do so. That is despite a considerably below-par season for the Blues which will leave them without European football next term.

The Daily Telegraph also reported earlier this week that Kante is keen to work with incoming Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino, with the two having shared a 'mutual admiration' of one another for some time. Despite Kante's comments, though, Lampard insisted he remains in the dark on the situation but is delighted with the way he has played under his management.
"I've got no understanding as to N'Golo speaking. I don't know about the situation. He's obviously a very, very high level player I've said that many times.
"Absolutely [still has a lot to offer]. Every game he has played for us in this short period is similar to N'Golo's level and he has been a huge asset to the club we know that."
