One of London's favourite Italian restaurants Franco Manca is giving away golden-based gooey goodness from all of its capital-based joints.
But there is a catch.
You can only have free pizza if your name is Franco.
The pizza chain said that, "given the damage that Christmas and New Year’s partying has wreaked upon our bank balances, we’re more in need of freebies than ever before".
And they haven't disappointed, vowing to give away pizza goodness for completely free to anyone who shares the same namesake as them from any of their 70 stores.
Anyone with the name Franco, or Franca, can stroll into any restaurant – excluding Northern Ireland – show some form of identification and voila – free pizza will be presented for you to eat in and enjoy.
The scheme, which runs until January 31, is in celebration of the chain opening their Brixton base.
In their Instagram post they said: "How does a FREE PIZZA sound?! ð¤¯ð¤© "Did you know that ‘Franco Manca’ translates from Italian to ‘Franco is missing’? We’re on a hunt to find them! ð"To celebrate the launch of our beautiful new Brixton restaurant, we are offering a free pizza to anyone with the first name ‘Franco’ or ‘Franca’ ð All you need to do is come along to any of our restaurants nationwide* and show us your ID. "This offer is valid until 31st January so don’t miss out! "T&Cs apply, visit our website for full details. Valid for dine-in only, at all Franco Manca restaurants in England, Scotland and Wales.*excluding Northern Ireland".
And many fans were left buzzing with the news, and more than happy to go to some extreme lengths for a free slice.
One social media user, going by the name Chef Weilding, commented: "My name can be Franco. I'll change it by deed poll for free fennel sausage pizza!"
Franco Manca burst into the London food scene 16 years ago, and kicked off our mainstream love affair with Neapolitan pizza, helping to inject an Italian classic into the capital’s lifeblood.
They started their journey at Brixton Market where, in 2008, a guy called Franco asked his good friend Giuseppe Mascoli if he wanted to help run the pizzeria he founded in 1986.
Together, they built a specialty oven and developed their own slow-rising sourdough – created from an 18th century starter procured near Giuseppe’s home town of Naples.
The place grew from there and now they have more than 70 sites selling pizza.
This week, the popular pizza chain announced plans to open a branch in Plymouth. The chain so far has only one restaurant in the South West, in Exeter.
